There
is something captivating about the hats worn during the Victorian era.
This is your opportunity to create a beautiful Victorian hat
while learning millinery techniques.
You will learn how to - make a pattern, apply millinery wire to
buckram, apply batting and bias binding to a hat frame, cover and embellish a hat frame, insert a
lining and attach grosgrain ribbon. The hat may be made with a large,
wide brim or small narrow brim. This
is an excellent workshop for costume and theatre people.

Using
basic millinery techniques, create your own pillbox hat in this
comprehensive workshop. Learn how to create a pattern from which
to make a buckram frame, apply batting and bias tape, cover the frame
with fabric and insert the lining and grosgrain ribbon. It's easy
and you will be able to use these techniques to make many different
styles of hats. This workshop provides the basic foundation for
making buckram frame hats.

deadline for each workshop is two weeks prior to the workshop

Miscellaneous
Information:
o Workshops must be taken the same weekend to qualify for the discounted
class fee.
o Upon registration you will
receive a class confirmation, directions and a list of supplies that you
must bring to the workshop.
o To ensure each participant receives individual attention, class size is limited to six participants so please register
early.
o Class hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm with half an hour for
lunch. It is recommended that participants bring a brown bag
lunch.
o Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation
reservations. |
